Kuta beach was this morning reopened to swimmers following a king tide that created dangerous conditions along the famous stretch of coast.
The head of Kuta Beach’s lifesavers association, I Gusti Ngurah Tresna, said the tide receded after about three hours.
The surge, caused by high winds that have been lashing the island, peaked at three feet higher than normal conditions, disrupting traffic along parts of Jl. Pantai.
Despite lifting the ban, lifesavers are urging extreme caution to anyone visiting the beach.
