VQS Flying Fish Surf Series 2012

3 yellow mini-vans complete with the yellow-clad Volcom crew and geared to “crushing boredom” broke onto the scene at Padma Beach, Legian, early Sunday morning. In less than an hour Padma beach was transformed into the challenging and fun arena for the Volcom VQS Surf Series 2012 Flying Fish competition.


The event began at 7:00 AM with 70 participants coming from Uluwatu, Nusa Dua, Kuta and Padma. The competition was a busy one with many different divisions, ranging from 14 & Under, 17 & Under, Pro AM to the Air Show. Fueled by adrenaline participants challenged each other with long rides on the 3-4ft waves. On shore, mini-games such as indoor soccer, beach volleyball, and paddle ball were keeping the audience and participants busy when not watching the surfing.
