Surfer Girl names Green Ambassador

Surfer Girl has officially named Patricia Goeyardi its official Green Ambassador 2012.

IndoSurfLife.com | July 30, 2012 | Kuta, Bali: The eleven-year-old is a student at Taman Rama School, Denpasar, and has been appointed Surfer Girl’s first Green Ambassador. The seventh-grader has an impressive list of environmental achievements in her bag and is the perfect role model to inspire young girls in Indonesia who want to be part of the Surfer Girl mission, “To make a positive difference through everything that we do.”

Surfer Girl could not be more delighted in welcoming Patricia into the Surfer Girl Family and are sure that she will be an invaluable part of the brands current Green Practice and Care Share Respect programs in the months to come.

Patricia Goeyardi’s most recent notable achievement was at the “Bobo Awards 2012” in the “Social and Environment” category, where she was honored by Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection Minister, Linda Amalia Sari. She was also recently nominated for the “International Young Eco-Hero Award 2012” from Action for Nature, US, with her specially designed sticker that calls for environmental protection.

As Surfer Girl’s first ever Green Ambassador, Patricia will also be heavily involved with the exceptionally talented Surfer Girl Team Riders; Salini Rengganis (14 years old), Taina Izquierdo (11 years old), Puanani Johnson (14 years old), Kailani Johnson (10 years old), Dhea Natasya (11 years old), and Joniati ‘Cinta’ Hansel (11 years old) in discussing and spreading environmental awareness related to the ocean and surf.

As well as being a keen green crusader, Patricia is also an aspiring photographer and film-maker and has achieved great things in this arena as well, having won 2nd prize for “Young Photographer of the Year 2010” from Digital Camera Magazine (UK), as well as getting 2nd prize for a video documentary “Kid Witness News 2011 – Panasonic” with her reporting on the coral plantation and sea horse hatchery on Serangan Island in Bali.

Surfer Girl has joined and sponsored many environmental activities in Bali and throughout Indonesia. The company’s green practices have started since it’s early beginning and have grew into solid company culture where employees take part in every activities. Starting beginning 2008, the company has implemented a waste separation and recycling program in its entire offices and retail shops in partnership with Eco Bali. Surfer Girl also regularly hold beach clean-up and a keen supporter of Save Orangutan Sumatra.
