Surfer Girl Launches “Share to Care” Program on Valentine’s Day
To celebrate Valentine’s Day this year, Surfer Girl announces a collaboration with the Taman Bacaan Pelangi (Rainbow Reading Gardens) to launch an online interactive campaign called ‘Share to Care’. The ‘Share to Care’ program will be launched on the 14th of February 2013 through the official Surfer Girl Indonesia and Summer the Surfer Girl Facebook Fanpages.
‘Summer’ the Surfer Girl will invite her over 2.6+ million fans to join her in celebrating Valentine’s Day this year, and the month that follows, by ‘sharing’ a special edition ‘Share to Care’ badge. For every fan that shares the special edition badge from either of the two official fanpages while the program is running, Surfer Girl has pledged to donate Rp. 1,000 (One thousand Indonesian Rupiah) to Taman Bacaan Pelangi that will be used to buy books for children in East Indonesia.
Taman Bacaan Pelangi (Rainbow Reading Gardens) is a non-profit social project to establish children’s libraries in remote areas of Eastern Indonesia. It aims to encourage and nurture children’s interest in reading by providing access to good books. Taman Bacaan Pelangi believes this is critical for a child’s education, and broadens their horizons and opportunities. Through learning, children can realize their ambitions, develop skills and expertise that will benefit their local community, break the cycle of poverty and lay the foundations of peace in the future.
Nadia Bintoro, Head of Marketing Communication of Surfer Girl commented: “We’re really thrilled to be able to run this program. We’ve been hearing about Taman BacaanPelangi (Rainbow Reading Gardens) and totally supporting their commendable activities in the remote areas in Eastern Indonesia. At Surfer Girl we always strive ‘To Make a Positive Difference through Everything that we do’ and also truly believe in the power of dreams and education for kids, so we’re really thankful to have this partnership with Taman Bacaan Pelangi (Rainbow Reading Gardens)”.
Nila Tanzil, the founder of Taman Bacaan Pelangi, said, “We are very happy with this partnership. The campaign will encourage Surfer Girl’s fans to take part in a good cause and raise awareness that children who live in remote areas also have the rights to have access to good children books, and all of us can help provide the access, for the betterment of their future. We hope there will be more collaboration like this in the near future”.
