A number of pecalang (traditional security guards) arrested two Australian nationals for breaching the customary village’s requirements to stay inside their hotel grounds during Nyepi.

The two tourists were found walking near the Ground Zero monument on Jl. Legian in Kuta.

Mangku Urip, one of the pecalang, said, as quoted by beritabali.com, that the two Australians were immediately required to return to their hotel and to abide by the rules. The two tourists have not been identified yet.
