ESPN has been doing “The Body Issue” for a while, and even though there is a very obvious and in-your-face sexuality about it, they have somehow been able to preserve the integrity of the collection as, above all, a bare-all exhibit of sorts for raw athleticism, stripped of uniforms and equipment.
The latest surfer to feature in the collection is Hawaiian dream gal Coco Ho. Who said surfing isn’t beautiful? Well, you may just get a little too excited for your own good. Coco joins a growing list of pro surfers choosing to bare all for the magazine’s annual celebration of the athletic form, including Kelly Slater, Maya Gabeira and Steph Gilmore.
Coco Ho got nude, but not for any nefarious medium or even a Stab Shoot, Women’s WCT World No. 10 posed (and surfed!!) nude for ESPN Magazine’s infamous 2014 Body Issue.
What takes some of the controversy, yet by no means any of the beauty, out of this 6th annual issue is who Coco is getting shot next to. World Class athletes like Venus Williams and Michael Phelps. Travis Pastrana and Larry Fitzgerald. Modern greats in their respective fields of sport. And yeah, totally naked.
Others to appear are: Bernard Hopkins (boxing), Jimmy Spithill (sailing), Tomas Berdych (tennis), Nigel Sylvester (BMX), Omar Gonzalez (soccer), Jamie Anderson (snowboarding), Amy Purdy (Para-Olympics), Danyelle Wolf (boxing), Aja Evans (bobsled), Hillary Knight (hockey), Megan Rapinoe (USA soccer), Angel McCoughtry (WNBA) and Ginger Huber (cliff diving).
