Bali Domestic Terminal Set to Open, Airport Tax to be Raised

Ngurah Rai airport officials have announced that the new domestic terminal will officially open and begin operations this Wednesday.


To coincide with the new terminal’s opening an increase in the Passenger Service Charge, originally approved in April, will be officially implemented.

“On September 16, at 2100, the temporary domestic terminal will be closed and the following day the first flight will depart in the new domestic terminal location…As of September 17, 2014, the Passenger Service Charge [for domestic flights] will be adjusted from Rp. 40,000 to Rp. 75,000,” explained General Manager of Ngurah Rai Airport, Herry A.Y. Sikado.

According to Sikado the new domestic terminal is some 68,000 square meters, four times the size of the previous domestic terminal, and has a capacity of approximately nine to twelve million passengers per year.
