Marion Hearty Crowned as Freeride World Champion

This past week, Rip Curl team rider Marion Hearty was crowned the 2017 Freeride World Champion, after a successful run in the final event of the season, the Xtreme Verbier.

Renowned for it’s challenging off-piste terrain, the mountain Bec des Rosses is smack dab in the middle of the Swiss Valais region, and a part of the towering mountain range of Mont-Fort. It’s the ideal location to hold the final event of the Freeride World Tour’s 10th season – and there is no better place to crown the 2017 World Champion.

Marion has had a stunning season, and even though she came 2nd in the Xtreme Verbier, she clinched her World Champion title with points – a feat accomplished due to her multiple first, second and third place wins at events throughout the year.

Congratulations Marion, we can’t wait to see what the next season holds for you!
