“We’ve picked surfing as the theme to attract young, active travelers from Amsterdam,” Tourism Minister Arief Yahya said.

G-Land is a beach popular among European tourists. It is known for its magnificent waves, which can even reach six meters.

“G-Land is one of the most popular surfing spots in Indonesia … Whenever an opportunity arises, we will promote this destination, just like we are doing now in Amsterdam,” said Noviendi Makalam, the ministry’s tourism marketing specialist.

As one of the busiest airports, Schiphol is a strategic location to attract foreign tourists to Indonesia. “Schiphol is not only an entry point to the Netherlands, but also one of the main entry points of Europe,” Noviendi added.

According to minister, promoting G-Land in Amsterdam will not end with the display, which is only a starting point for social media campaigns.
