Frenchman Arrested Carrying Drugs at Bali Airport

Ngurah Rai Customs and Excise Office of Bali has arrested a French citizen for allegedly carrying 14 grams of cannabis in his suitcase, The Jakarta Post reported.

Anthony Fabian Lambert, was arrested upon arrival in Bali on Tuesday night. He was on a Malaysia Airlines flight from Kuala Lumpur.

The 23-year-old French man was in the queue for passport stamp, he went to the Immigration counter to hand in his declaration form. Then put his luggage into the X-Ray machine, after officer on duty saw something suspicious and immediately secured it. When they opened the bag, they reportedly found around 14-g of marijuana and a small bag of marijuana seeds.

“We have handed over the suspect and the evidence to the Bali Police. They are still investigating the case,” Customs office head Budi Harjanto said. Indonesia has harsh drug laws. Last year, the country’s Attorney General’s Office executed one Indonesian and three foreigners for drug trafficking.
