PSCT Marks The Beginning of Professional Surfing League in Philippines

The Philippine Surfing Championship Tour (PSCT) exists to establish, maintain, operate, and organize professional surfing competitions and other related events in and around the country. The goal is to boost the surf tourism and raise world-class Filipino surfers who can represent the Philippines in international competitions including the 2018 Asian Games and 2020 Olympics.

Surfing is the world’s fastest growing water sport. Worldwide participation is growing by 30% more annually. Fortune estimates that the global surf industry will generate more than $13 Billion in 2017. With the global media hype on the World Surf League (WSL) and the growth of the surf lifestyle market, we envision tremendous development in the sport in the coming years.

For the first time in Philippine history, the standards of the International Surfing Association (ISA), which is the world governing body for surfing, will be applied during the competitions.

This will be implemented by judges with the highest ISA certification in the country. Further, PSCT will be using a special machine used in the international surfing competitions such as the Asian Surfing Tour and the WSL Indeed, this is the biggest development in Philippine Surfing so far and they will conduct all possible measures to prepare the athletes for the international stage.

The Philippine Surfing Championship Tour is a four-leg tournament that will start this September at the Boardwalk Cloud 9 Resort in Siargao.
