Whale Washed Up on West Seram Beach, Again

A large whale was found by locals on a beach off the village of Sole, West Seram, Indonesia, May 29, as quoted from Tempo.

Sole village secretary Ismet said that the whale was found at 6 am and died two hours later, at 8 am.

Authorities report that the carcass was 23-meter long and 5-meter wide. Ismet said that large whales are often seen of late in waters off the village.

The death of the giant whales was the second time in Huamual Sub-district. Earlier on May 9, a similar mammal carcass was also stranded in Iha Village.
