It’s always exciting when there is a new swell is coming to Indo. Some times it can be also scary. This week we have 3 swells in a row hitting the islands. Exciting and scary at the same time. Last Sunday we got to the beach around 11AM, and it was high tide. Waves were barely breaking with 2-3 ft sets coming through. Around 12:30 a good set of 3 or 4 waves barreled all the way to the channel and we decide to go out and snap some shots . A few minutes later some 8 footers were coming through producing what Padang is known for… Wide and heavy barrels. Check the photos and leave your comments.
Made “Bol” Adi Putra, from Halfway, Kuta is well know by his performances in big Padang and huge airs. Bol has PhD in Padang-padang and that bottom turn shows all his know-how in the subject.

Dreams do come true and they certainly did today for Bali’s Garut Widiarta in the most spectacular waves seen in the Rip Curl Cup’s 11 year history.
Quiksilver’s environmentally-friendly roots took center stage in Bali, Indonesia this weekend through the Big Bali Eco Weekend. Through a multitude of events, and in collaboration with Coca-Cola and Garuda, Quiksilver raised awareness for clean Bali beaches, protecting the environment and local turtles, along with promoting sustainable tourism.
A few weeks ago we went to Kuta Reef to check what was going on out there. It’d been a while since we’d been over there and I had forgotten how much fun the waves are in that part of the island, the Outer Reefs.

The forecast was right, ISL.com crew woke up early and drove to Padang. Arriving there some big sets were coming through but tide was too high. So we waited and we scored.
