Kelly Slater, John John Florence, and Jack Johnson are next door neighbors in Hawaii and have been friends for over 20 years, or almost as long as John John has been alive. Despite their busy schedules, they never miss a good day at home. Here they are surfing a fun session a few miles down the road from their houses at Haleiwa, one of the jewels in the crown of Oahu and, on its day, one of the most fun and accessible waves on the North Shore.

The wind is blowing ferociously on the banks around Peniche right now – most of the banks are closeouts, yet the whole of the WCT is out there. But on a lay day in Portugal, Kelly Slater tagged a closeout ramp and just kept spinning, spinning and spinning in a fashion your eyes won’t believe.
