This season we had the chance to go on a trip with Darren Roger, the Pirate, a highly experienced surf guide and an excellent surfer, working on the Arimbi. The forecast pointed to a South-Westerly swell for the first day, and Darren made us the promise of a day of barrels in the “Playgrounds” area.

When the swell disappears off the map, and the waves are far and few in between, the boats in the Ments head to Telescopes; Another splendid wave in the land of lefts. Named after the view down the barrel it is admittedly rather a perfect wave. When everywhere else was too small we joined the throng of boats for 3-4 ft fun gorged ourselves on barrels.
