An analyst with the Pekanbaru Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) said on Sunday there had been 12 tectonic earthquakes over the last two weeks.
The latest quakes struck parts of Sulawesi and Singihe islands on March 21 and March 22, respectively, with magnitudes of 6.3 and 5.2 on the Richter scale (RS), the BMKG analyst, Ardhitama, said.
According to Nyoman Gede Wiryajaya of the Meteorological Department, the peak of the rainy season in Bali will occur during the months of January and February. “It’s predicted that there will be heavy rain and strong winds, so we ask people to remain vigilant,” he said yesterday.
