Tasmania’s king of big waves, Marti Paradisis, had a long-time dream come true when he won Biggest Wave at Surfing Life’s Oakley Big Wave Awards for riding a nine-metre monster at Pedra Branca off Tasmania’s south coast.
Gabriel Medina, one of the most dynamic aerial surfers in the world and one of the most promising young talents ever to come out of Brazil, has joined Oakley’s Global surf team. The 19-year-old surfer from Sao Paulo, who finished in the top 10 on the prestigious Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) World Championship Tour in 2012, joins an already star-studded surf team which now becomes all that more formidable.

Australia’s most prestigious huge-surf challenge is once again up for grabs, along with $35,000 in prizemoney, as the finalists have been announced in Surfing Life’s Oakley Big Wave Awards.
A few months ago rumors about the possibility of a stop in Bali on the Surfing World Tour was making the rounds. There were speculations that Oakley would bring the ASP circus to Indonesia in 2014, for what would be a new stop on “The Dream Tour”.
Jack Freestone Wins Second ASP World Junior Title at Oakley ASP World Junior Championships
