Bells Beach is booming for day two of the Rip Curl Pro with a clean three to five foot (1.5m) swell building and breaking from Rincon through to the Bowl.

The big waves brought out the big moves from Indonesia’s best pro surfers, and after the final horn blew a stop to the days competition there now 8 surfers left to battle it out in tomorrow’s quarterfinals that are scheduled to begin at 6:30 am, conditions permitting.

Last year’s Rip Curl Pro was the best ever! Big statement I know, but it’s true. Great waves, a ten-day long celebration of the events fiftieth year that included almost all the past champions and a final that featured two mates going (power) ape-shit in the bowl – Hemingway couldn’t have scripted it better.
