After some top secret wave-hunting missions over the weekend we enjoyed some classic Padang yesterday. This wave never goes out of style and the locals know how to charm this lady.
Reef Doig returns to Bali after moving to Australia to finish his schooling and this is what happened.
In a surprising upset yesterday in the Quiksilver Padma Challenge at Padma Beach in Bali, 16 year old Reef Doig took down Bali’s top ASC ranked pro surfers in an exciting final battle as thousands of spectators looked on, most of whom were gathered on the beach as part of the Quiksilver, Coca-Cola Amatil Indonesia, and Garuda Indonesia sponsored Bali Big Eco Weekend.
December has arrived! We usually have a lot of rain and Westerly winds at this time of the year, but as we’ve mentioned before this year is rather unusual. Not that we’re complaining! Over the last few days we enjoyed a mid-size swell that brought Bali fun waves, 5-6ft at some breaks, and with the light Southerly winds we’ve been able to surf all day. The coconut wireless is buzzing with stories that it’s been barreling all over the island.
Volcom Qualifying Series Tour took place at Halfway, Kuta. It all started with the rising sun and this time the mission was “getting in the hole” and decide the champion of each category. The surfers has been collecting points during previews contest series and Halfway was the last stop to crown the Champions Of Volcom Stone’s Crustaceous Indo Tour 2013.
