On the opening day of the inaugural Komune Bali Pro presented by the Mad Hueys at Keramas, it was Bali’s Pepen Hendrik and Lakey Peak’s Gazali Hamzah that posted the two highest scores of day to send out a clear message to the international field that the local contingent is a force to be reckoned with in this dual sanctioned Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) and Asian Surfing Championship (ASC) event.
These lucky chaps got the opportunity to send two of their brightest and best off to Indo for a late season swell.
“I jumped into the water and was swimming with the cage and the next thing I knew, the bloody thing was coming at me. “I was flailing around like crazy to get back on the boat before it sunk it’s teeth into me.”
